For MSTAR Church, the lobby renovation was about more than aesthetics it was about creating a space where people could slow down, connect, and feel at home.
“The vision was to create a space that reflects who we are as a church a warm, welcoming, and life-giving community,” said Cory Ermold, Worship and Creative Arts Pastor. “We wanted our lobby to feel like a space where people can make meaningful connections and feel at home the moment they walk through the doors.”
That focus on connection aligns with MSTAR Church’s broader mission: helping people build faith-filled foundations, thriving lives, and flourishing futures. The new space was intentionally designed to foster those kinds of relationships making room for conversations that matter and creating an atmosphere that says, you belong here.
Design That Invites Community
The reimagined lobby features open, modern design elements balanced by warmth and intentionality. Comfortable seating areas feel like living rooms, encouraging people to linger and connect, while a newly added coffee bar serves as a natural gathering point.
“One of the key changes was adding a new wall that redirects traffic flow,” said Ermold. “It creates a much more natural and welcoming entrance into the auditorium, improving movement and carving out a better space for people to hang out and have conversations.”
The renovation also introduced a stunning lightbox wall showcasing a mosaic of the past six years of MSTAR Church’s community. A meaningful visual story of growth, faith, and connection.

His leadership allowed us to stay focused on our mission, knowing we had someone who truly cared about the outcome.”

The impact of the renovation was felt immediately. On the first Sunday in the new space, church members lingered longer, conversations flowed more naturally, and guests felt welcomed from the moment they arrived.
“People stayed longer, connected more easily, and used the space exactly how we had hoped,” said Ermold. “It confirmed that this wasn’t just a renovation—it was an investment in the kind of community we want to build.”
Looking ahead, MSTAR Church plans to use the space not only for Sunday services but also for worship nights, family events, and community gatherings. Its flexibility opens the door for outreach, discipleship, and connection throughout the week.
